South Burlington — Janice (Jan) Eileen Chase Chandler, a beloved figure in the Vermont community, passed away suddenly and peacefully on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 81. Her journey began in Laconia, NH on October 13, 1943, as the second daughter of the late Ralph and Jeanne (Washburn) Chase. Janice married Jay M. Chandler on December 29, 1962, in Bradford, Vermont, and they shared nearly 53 years of marriage until his passing in 2015.

Jan’s presence touched the lives of many as she navigated through various roles and experiences. She was a devoted mother to her three children and a cherished grandmother to her grandchildren. Jan was known for her vibrant personality, compassionate nature, and curious spirit.
