George M. Murn, affectionately known as Mike, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2024, in Burlington, VT, after a brief illness. He was born on December 13, 1948, in Orange, NJ, to George and Grace Murn, and had just turned seventy-six years old at the time of his passing.

A Life Filled with Love and Warmth

George leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that touched the lives of many. He is survived by his beloved wife Pam, his two sons Michael Murn and Nicholas Murn (Jenness), his sisters Terri Crosson and Marcy Pravetz, six grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and countless others who were fortunate enough to know him.

A Journey of Service and Friendship

George spent most of his life in New Jersey, working for The Bell System (later Verizon) for thirty-three years before retiring. He then pursued his passion for home repair before moving to Rock Hall, MD, where he became the dock master at Haven Harbour Marina. In 2012, George and his wife returned to New Jersey before settling in St. George, VT.

A Legacy of Kindness and Connection

George’s warm and genuine nature endeared him to everyone he met. Whether he was working at LCT on the deck loading cars onto ferries or chatting with passengers in the ticket booth, George always had a smile and a friendly word for those around him. His ability to connect with people and make friends wherever he went was truly remarkable.
